***** BASTA ! New Campaign Moves to Assist Brazilian Community of Atlanta to Expose Crime

Atlanta - Sept. 3, 2003 - For General Public Release

Without any doubt there are difficult things we must confront in life. This goes for many of us as individuals as for an entire community. There comes a time, however, when remaining idle and standing silently by must come to an end ... as too many have done for too long ... and for us to take action.

Brazil Atlanta™ thus is a proud supporter of the movement called BASTA ! (Enough!)

Most of Brazil Atlanta™'s news and promotions are in favor of light hearted fun ... but there is a time to get serious. Now this time has come to consider some serious business. This is not fun ... it is actually for many a bit frightening ... but history teaches that fear is not a good excuse for inaction in the face of evil.

We invite you to review, consider, and respond to a material we have posted at www.brazilatlanta.com/basta/ . This campaign we joined with dedication aims to expose and isolate certain elements of the Brazilian Community of Atlanta™ that have grown to a significant scale and level of organization, all in the past year, that they can simple no longer be ignored or much less tolerated.

We believe that any concerned individual should confront a growing reality of organized crime.

Yet, we ourselves do not aim to judge, nor threaten, nor take individual action ... that is for the authorities to do. And yet, it is as much our right, for us as guests in this free country to be concerned and outspoken, as it is the right of our citizen friends to assist the upstanding majority of Brazilians in Atlanta to speak out against the crime, threats, and dangers poised by a small minority. BASTA ! (Enough!)

Those who abuse the freedoms they have gained, often as guests in this land, should know that it is not only the duty of the officials to apprehend, prosecute, convict and punish those who commit serious crimes ... but they will have our communities support. Do not mistake our intent or conviction ... the targets of this campaign are "the worst of the worst." These individuals should understand that things have just changed. And such individuals would stop at nothing to promote themselves and seek their own selfish and limited interests at the expense of many others.

Worse, such elements actively invite others to join the illicit activities -- pandering to members of the community to join them in their illicit occupations. And it is often those who are most innocent and most vulnerable and the most easily influenced who these individuals will target: The children. And that is where the situation has simply become intolerable. BASTA ! (Enough!)

Fortunately many upstanding community members already stand together proud and their citizen friends to assist the Brazilian Community of Atlanta in what at first is certainly not regarded with popular appeal. We know that many will soon join our efforts for various reasons ... be they ethical or religious ... or simply humanitarian. Our efforts to confront abuses in this land which has given much to so many will not cease from this day forward.

Those who toil daily to better their life with new opportunities and a respect for the freedoms should know that it is not the honest workers who are being targeted ... Many who simply seek an honest opportunity are law abiding guest. They have little to fear.

Working in a collaboration with many courageous individuals a lot of work has already been accomplished ... quietly ... behind the scenes ... with a great deal of patience ... and with conviction for the good of the community. Now already there is a stirring that is palpable which can be felt throughout the community ... even before wider publication of the movement.

Join us then as we move forward to create the family oriented environment community that a vast majority of Brazilians seek in this great city of metro Atlanta ... and work for a common and positive future.

Please consider the information carefully ... and then join us. Take at least that action.
